Inger M. Anderson was born March 11, 1886 in Story County, Iowa and was the daughter of Charles and Jori Anderson. The family moved to Wright County where she grew to womanhood. In 1905, she married Burt [Bert] Weland at Clarion. They first farmed near Holmes and then moved to Eagle Grove where he worked for Ellsworth Truck Lines and Gilbert Need Implement. He died in 1960. She spent winters in Arizona and lived a short time with her sister in South Dakota before moving to South Town. At the age of 100 she entered the Care Center. Inger Weland was a member of First Lutheran Church in Clarion.
Inger M. Weland, 109, Clarion, died on Saturday morning May 13, 1995 at the Clarion Health Care Center. Survivors include three daughters: Clara Martin and Ruth Ohlfest, both of Tucson, Arizona, and Doris Michels of Clarion; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, 4 sisters, an infant daughter, 5 sons, 1 daughter, 2 grandsons, and 1 great grandson.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Clarion, Iowa with Reverend William Granger officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of arrangements.
