December 18, 1856 --- February 12, 1936

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Haukole was held from the Wilson Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Albert S. Kilbourn officiating. Three duets were sung by Mrs. Fannie Cotton and Mrs. Vina Hall. The beautiful Eastern Star service was conducted under direction of Worthy Matron Esther Gunderson and Worthy Patron Harry Shurtz. Burial was at Rose Hill cemetery.

Mary Krumm Haukole, the daughter of Charles and Mary Krumm, was born at Manitowoc, Wisconsin, December 18, 1856, and passed away at her home on North Iowa avenue at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday, February 12, her age the time of death being 79 years, 1 month, 25 days. She was united in marriage to Charles Haukole at Manitowoc, 41 years ago. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs. Ada Haukole Weeks.

Immediately after their marriage they moved to Eagle Grove which was to be their home for the rest of their lives. Mr. Haukole was traveling engineer for the C. & N. W. R. R.. In the community he took an important place, serving on the city council and on the board of education. He was a prominent member of the Masonic order, also. He passed away in 1918. A step-son, Charles Haukole, passed away in 1928.

Mrs. Haukole was a member of Eagle Chapter O. E. S. and of the Fidelity Bible class of the Congregational Sunday school. Her chief interest was in her home, to which she was loyal and devoted.

Besides her daughter, she leaves one granddaughter, Peggy Jane Weeks, and a sister, Mrs. Augustus Sweet of Los Angeles, who, because of ill health, was unable to be present at the funeral.
