Marvel Louise Davidson, the daughter of Ralph and Minnie (Chestnut) Davidson, was born on Sunday; September 24, 1916 in Goldfield; Wright County, Iowa. She graduated from LuVerne High School in LuVerne; Kossuth County, Iowa. On Saturday; October 23, 1937, Marvel was united in marriage to Vernon Eggleston in LuVerne, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in several communities where Marvel was a homemaker and raised their family. In 1980, they retired and made their home in Graettinger. Vernon passed away on Tuesday; November 25, 1997. Due to failing health, Marvel has made her home at Ruthven Community Care Center in Ruthven; Palo Alto County, Iowa for the past three years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Graettinger and also belonged to UMW. Marvel Louise (Davidson) Eggleston passed away Friday, December 1, 2006, at the Ruthven Community Care Center in Ruthven, Iowa, at the age of 90. Those left to mourn her passing are her daughters, Elaine Thu of Webb; Clay County, Iowa. Gladys Genson and her husband, Jack of Richardson; Dallas County, Texas. Rita Gregersen and her husband, Marlyn of Avondale; Maricopa County, Arizona. Jeanie Steil and her husband, Bud of Jacksonville; Duval County, Florida. Eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Vervon Davidson and his wife, Gloria of Iowa Falls; Hardin County, Iowa. Preceding Marvel in death were her husband; parents; son-in-law, Allen Thu and brother, Gordon.

Visitation is Saturday; December 9, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at The United Methodist Church; 102 South Cameron Street, Graettinger; Palo Alto County; Iowa. Funeral services will be on Saturday; December 9, 2006 starting at 1:30 p.m. also at United Methodist Church; 102 South Cameron Street; Graettinger, Iowa. Following the funeral service Marvel will be laid to rest at Valley View Cemetery in Graettinger, Iowa. HENRY-OLSON FUNERAL HOME is caring for the family and arrangements.
