July 15, 1890 ---- August 28, 1978

Margaret Agnes Banks, daughter of William and Carrie Bervan O'Connor, was born July 15, 1890 at Eagle Grove. She attended school at Eagle Grove and received teacher training at Cedar Falls. She taught school in Woolstock for one year. She married Hubert Banks of Eagle Grove in 1909. Hubert died in 1970. Margaret died Monday, August 28, 1978. Margaret was a member of the United Church of Christ, Rebekah Lodge, White Shrine, Gold Star Mothers and the Legion Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband and one son, Kenneth. Survivors include: two sons, Gordon and Albert of Eagle Grove; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. Kermit) Fjetland of Eagle Grove and Myrna (Mrs. Jerry) Hunt, Lakefield, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence O'Connor, Cedar Rapids; and one sister, Mary DeBall of Chicago. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 30, 1978, 2 p.m. at United Church of Christ, Eagle Grove. Officiating will be Rev. Howell Bischoff and burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
