Roger Harlan Larson was born on Tuesday; July 9, 1929 on the Larson family farm in rural Humboldt County, Iowa, Norway Township, east of Thor. Roger attended Willow school #6 and was then educated and graduated from the NW Iowa Braille & Sight Saving School in 1948 originally the Iowa College for the Blind opening in 1852 in Vinton, Iowa. Roger tuned and rebuilt pianos and organs over 35 years for Jones Piano in Fort Dodge, until they closed in 1983. He then returned to live on the Larson family farm, which was purchased in 1879. Roger was also a lifelong member of Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor, Iowa.

Roger Harlan Larson, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, Webster County, Iowa. Those left to mourn his passing are: His many cousins and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother and his brother: Palmer L. Larson on January 13, 2012. May they rest in peace. May God bless his memory and give strength to those that mourn.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service the time at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove; Wright County, Iowa with Pastor Darryl Landsverk officiating. Interment will be at the Norway Lake Cemetery in rural Thor; Humboldt, Iowa. Memorials in Roger's honor may be given to Ullensvang Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
