Funeral services for Mable L. Brabec, 76, of Johnson Lake near Grand Rapids, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 17, at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, and at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. George B. Gilbertson will officiate during the first service, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Jerry Merkouris will officiate during the Albert Lea service, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea.

Mable died Thursday, July 13, 1995 at Itasca Medical Center, Grand Rapids. She was born Feb 10, 1919 in Hardy, Iowa. She moved to Albert Lea as a child and attended schools in Albert Lea. She was united in marriage to Fred Brabec on Sept 3, 1937 in Northwood, Iowa. She had worked for Albert Lea Furniture Co, Munsingware Co, Montgomery Wards and as a hostess at the Skyline Supper Club in Albert Lea. She was also very active in the Eagles Auxiliary, Post 2258 in Albert Lea, and Post 2469 in Grand Rapids. She served as a past president of the state Eagles Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.

She is survived by her husband, Fred; a daughter, Susan (Michael) Phillips of Hollondale, Minn; a son, Robert (Jean) Brabec of Eaglewood, Co; sisters, Mildred Kuntz of St. Ansgar, Iowa; and Dovie Stone of Bloomingdale, Minn; brother, Donald Larson, Albert Lea, Minn; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lars and Sarah Larson; brother, John Larson; and two sisters, Esther Wolff and Donna Munson.
