April 23, 1837 --- August 6, 1903

Rev. Seymour Snyder - 3rd child of John I and Hanna Snyder B 4-23-1837 Salisbury, Conn. D. 8-4-1903. Sioux City, Ia. M. 7-9-1866 Goldfield, IA. Mary Overbaugh, B. Oct. 1846 Cambridge, O. D.2-26-1876 Ophir Calif. M. 4-1-1880 Gary, So. Dak. Blanche Eliz. Good, G. 1-12-1856 Delevan, N.Y. D. 7-24-1904 Sioux City. Seymour Snyder entered the ministry in Wis. 1863. In 1864 he was admitted to the upper IA. Conference of Meth Ch. The 7th minister to this district and served 12 yrs. At his request was transferred to newer fields which included all Western IA, The Dakotas and part of Minn with no western boundry. He was one of the old circuit riders, founder of several churches and minister for 40 yrs. He filed the 1st claim on west shore of West Okoboji in 1866.
