March 16, 1866 --- January 26, 1940

Joe Moser, 73, retired farmer, died at his home on West Broadway Friday morning. Funeral services were held Monday at the Methodist church with the Rev. J. R. Tumbleson in charge. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.

Joe Moser, son of Carl and Ursula Moser, was born in Baden, Germany, March 16, 1866. He attended school in the community of his birth and came to America with his parents in 1888. They settled near Chenoa, Illinois. He was united in marriage with Miss Mary Streid at Chenoa, Feb. 7, 1893. In 1908, Mr. Moser moved his family to Iowa, settling on their farm home southwest of Eagle Grove. In September of 1921, Mr. Moser purchased a residence property on West Broadway in Eagle Grove which has been their home for the past 19 years. He is survived by his wife, two sons, R. W. of Ft. Dodge and Carl B. of Eagle Grove, also two daughters, Mrs. Ursula Williams, and Mrs. Grace Newbrough, both of Eagle Grove. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and one brother, Anton Moser, also of Eagle Grove. Mr. Moser was a member of the Methodist church of Eagle Grove, having joined in 1931. He was a member of the official board for many years and always gave freely of his time and resources in support of the church and its activities.
