Grace Marguerite Newbrough, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Streid Moser, was born at Chenoa, Illinois on February 17, 1901. She moved to Iowa with her parents in 1908 and the family settled on a farm in the Vincent area. She attended the Troy Township schools. On February 14, 1923, Grace and Harold J. Newbrough were united in marriage at the home of her parents in Eagle Grove. To this union were born two sons, Robert and Donald. The family lived on farms in the Vincent and Eagle Grove area. In 1958, Grace and Harold moved to the present Newbrough home in Eagle Grove. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the White Shrine. Grace died early Wednesday morning, Sept. 15, 1982 at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, where she had been a patient since Monday. She attained the age of 81 years, 6 months and 28 days. She is survived by her husband, Harold J. Newbrough of Eagle Grove; her sons, Robert Newbrough of Des Moines and Donald Newbrough of Ames; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Moser of Eagle Grove; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ursula Williams and a brother, Richard Moser.

Funeral services for Grace M. Newbrough were held on Friday, September 17, 1982 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Don Callen officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
