Donna Jean Hay, 88, of Coalville, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Community of Christ Church, Coalville, with Rev. Ron Dunsdon officiating. Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be on Wednesday March 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00a.m. at the Community of Christ Church in Coalville. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Helgevold and her husband Dr. Douglas of Eagle Grove; son, Arthur Hay and his wife Vicki of Comucopia, WI; 2 grandchildren, Brooke Hajinian and her husband Peter of Minneaplis, MN; Ross Helgevold and his wife, Abbylynn of Waverly; 3 great grandchildren, Millie and Hugo Helgevold, and Charles Hajinian; and her brother, Vernon Brooks of Coalville; sister-in-law, Lorena (Fred) Michalski of Fort Dodge; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Goldie (Beasley) Brooks; brothers, Donald and Paul Brooks; and her sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Nina Tudor, Vivian Carroll.

Donna Jean Brooks was born on September 6, 1927 in Coalville. She was raised and educated in Coalville, graduating from Otho High School in 1945. Donna then continued her education at Tobin Business School. She worked at Gates Department Store and later as secretary to Dr. Bruce. In 1949, Donna was united in marriage to Donald Hay at the Community of Christ Church in Coalville. The couple established their home on a farm near Vincent. In 1958, they moved to Fort Dodge. Donna worked for Land of Lakes in bookkeeping and as a secretary for 25 years until retiring in 1987. Donna was long time member of the Community of Christ Church in Coalville. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
