November 1, 1858 ---- November 5, 1926
Alvin P. Buck, second son of Henry and Christeann Buck, was born November 1, 1859, in Ogle county, Illinois, and died at Fort Dodge, Iowa, November 5, 1926, aged 67 years and 5 days. In 1988 he was married to Miss Alice McClellan at Sycamore, Ill. Three years later they removed to Eagle Grove, Iowa, and in 1893 took up their residence in Goldfield, where Mr. Buck resided for the remaining thirty-three years of his life. Of Mr. Buck's immediate family there survives but one member, Earl Buck, a son, three children having died in infancy and Mrs. Buck some two years ago.
Mr. Buck was for over thirty years a member of the local lodge of Woodmen, which order will, with other citizens of Goldfield, regret the passing of this neighbor and long time friend. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon, November 8, from the late residence of the deceased. Rev. A. E. Buriff read the service and Rev. J. C. Nicholson offered prayer. Interment was in the cemetery at Eagle Grove, where rest the bodies of Mrs. Buck and the children. Out of town people attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Buck and children of Rockford, Ill., son of the deceased; Mr. and Mrs. Will Buck and children of Humboldt; Mr. and Mrs. John Doctor and children, Jack Buck, Fred Buck, and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Miller all of Clarion, and Sim Sweeney of Des Moines.
