January 2, 1887 --- June 20, 1943

Mrs. Henry Meinders, nee Paulie Sophia Stadtlander, the youngest daughter of John and Pauline Stadlander was born January 2, 1887 on a farm east of Belmond, Iowa, this vicinity she grew to womanhood enjoying the blessings and privileges of being brought up in a Christian home, attending public school and divine services. On the 20th of January, 1909 she was happily united in marriage to Mr. Henry Meinders by the Rev. J.G. Thiehen. This union was blessed with two sons, and four daughters who all remain to mourn their mother's departure. Immediately after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Meinders commenced farming and so continued until the death of Mr. Meinders on December 19, 1938. Mrs. Meinders made her home in Belmond where she passed away Sunday evening, June 20 at 7:40 o'clock at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 18 days. On the 11th of October 1942, she was taken into the fellowship of the Immanuel Reformed church where she attended divine services and partook of communion as often as circumstances permitted.

She lives to mourn her departure six children; Alfred Meinders, Thortnton; Mrs. Thomas Harken, Thornton, Marvin Meinders, serving in the armed forces some where in Africa; Mrs. William Vierkant, Alexander, and Pauline and Verbena Meinders at home. Also four grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her three sisters, Mrs. Louise Wolters and Mrs. Emma Dorenkamp both of Belmond and Mrs. Herman Lauren of Meservey and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 23, 1943 at 1:30 at the Immuanuel Reformed Church, Rev. O.G. Poppen officiated assisted by the Rev. E. Kampmann of Meservey. A choir rendered three selections especially dear to the departed. Burial was made in the Belmond Cemetery.
