October 11, 1882 --- December 19, 1937
Henry Meinders, son of Harm and Werbena Meinders was born on the 11th of October, 1882 in Ditzumer Veerlaat, Eastfriesland, Germany. He was untied in marriage to Pauline Stadtlander on January 20, 1909. This union was blessed with six children, 2 sons and 4 daughters who all survive their father.
After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Meinders established their place of residence on a farm in Wright Co., northwest of Belmond, where they lived for six years from there they moved on a farm east of Belmond where they lived nine years. From there they moved to a farm northwest of Meservey, where the departed lived until his death. Mr. Meinders began to fail in health about two years ago, due to obstruction of the stomach, although not in the best of health he went about his daily tasks seldom complaining and doing his work as best as he knew how.
About twelve days before his death he failed rapidly and although receiving the very best of care, it pleased the Lord to call him to his reward shortly after midnight on Sunday morning December 19, 1937, at the age of 55 years, 2 months and 8 days. The departed proved himself to be a devoted father and a good neighbor, always earnestly endeavoring to live up to his promises. We greatly miss him, and we trust that our loss will be his gain.
He leaves to mourn his departure his grief stricken wife, six children, 2 sons; Alfred of Alexander, and Marvin at home; four daughters, Mrs. Clara Harken of Meservey, Mrs. Henrietta Vierkant of Alexander, and Pauline and Verbena, who are at home; also one grandchild, besides others mourn his departure are his aged mother, Mrs. Harm Meinders, and one brother, Herman and one sister, Mrs. Chris Groen, all of Belmond, besides many other relatives and friends.
