Alfred Henry Meinders, 81, of Belmond, died Wednesday, December 5, 1990 at his home of natural causes. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Reformed Church, Belmond, with Rev. Melvin Voss officiating. Burial was at Belmond, Cemetery. He was born October 26, 1909 a son of Henry and Pauline Stadtlander Meinders, On December 19, 1932, he married Leona Steenblock at Klemme. They farmed in the Thornton and Meservey area before moving to Belmond in 1960. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dean (Alvira) Thada, Meservey; one son Duane of Belmond; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Harken of Latimer; Mrs. William (Henrietta) Vierkant of Meservey; Mrs. Orville (Pauline) Arends of Alexander; and Mrs. Verbina Friesleben of Clear Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Leona, in December 1989 and one brother Marvin.
