Darleen Irene Bechard died Friday, February 12, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born in Eagle Grove, IA on September 19, 1925 to parents, John and Joanna Hemmingstad. Darleen lived much of her life in Wisconsin and South Dakota then moved to Vancouver, WA in 1987 after her second husband, Morris, passed away. Darleen enjoyed traveling and went on many cruises. She was an avid reader and loved to watch old western television programs. She was also a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Vancouver. She will always be remembered for her loving nature and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Darleen is survived by her daughter, Judy (Dick) Burce of Lakeland, FL; sons, Steven (Sandi) Bechard of Vancouver, WA and Jerry (Donna) Bechard of Hayward, WI; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by first husband, George Bechard; second husband, Morris Bechard; daughter Anita Canfield and son Clifford Bechard.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 19 at 11:00 am at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 5607 NE Gher Rd., Vancouver, WA 98662. In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made in Darleen's memory to St. Andrew's Lutheran Church.
