Bondurant, Iowa --- Edward Denger, 65, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 13, 2016. A memorial visitation to celebrate Edward's life will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Ankeny Funeral Home.

Edward James Denger was born on February 2, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa to Thomas and Mavis (Vandervort) Denger. He grew up in Dows, Iowa before moving to Winterset, Iowa, graduating in the class of 1970. Following graduation, Ed continued his education at Iowa State, DMACC, and Hamilton Business College. He made his career as an estimator for contracting projects. Most recently he owned and operated Iowa Windows and Door Company until selling it and taking a position with Iowa Countertops in Grimes where he was currently employed.

On September 2, 2006, Ed was united in marriage to Doreen Kay Lee-Denger in Eagle Harbor, Michigan. The couple made their home in Bondurant, and always treasured time going back to Michigan or any outdoor activity.

Ed had a passionate work ethic and took great pride in helping anyone in need. He appreciated antique cars, and always enjoyed attending car shows. Most of all, Ed loved spending time with Doreen and his family who all held a special place in his heart.

Ed will be deeply missed by his wife, Doreen Lee-Denger; step children, Amanda (Brian Sedars) Smith and Adam Lee; son-in-law, Joe (Christi) Gering; grandchildren, Brennan and Joshua Gering; step grandchildren, Genevieve and Eliza Smith; siblings, Steve (Karen) Denger, Mike Denger, and Chuck (Kelly) Denger; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Deann Gering.
