Frank P. Shake

Bicknell, Ind., June 16. - Mrs. I. V. Nierste received word of the death of her father, Frank P. Shake, 70 years old, who died at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at his home in Clarion, Iowa. Mr. Shake had been seriously ill for ten weeks. He was a former Sandborn resident until twenty-one years ago, when the family moved to Iowa. The son of John and Elizabeth Shake, he was born Nov. 5, 1865, in Sullivan County [Indiana].

He is survived by the widow, three daughters, Mrs. I. V. Nierste of Sandborn, Mrs. May Brooks of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Madeline Richeal of Cherokee, Iowa, and five grandchildren. There are also two sisters, Mrs. Allie Stafford of Lyons and Mrs. Martha Beck of near Sandborn. Two sons preceded the father in death. James died several years ago and Murphy, a World War veteran, died in February of this year.

The body of Mr. Shake was returned to Sandborn Sunday. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Bethel Baptist Church, of which the deceased was a member. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. C.R. McBride, Baptist pastor, conducted the rites.
