KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Joyce F. Hamer, 70, of Kingsley, formerly of Webster City, Iowa, joined her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, and is celebrating her eternal life in Heaven. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cornerstone Faith Center in Sioux City, with Pastor Larry Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, Sioux City. There will be no viewing at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, Iowa.

Joyce Faye Hamer, the daughter of Roy and Kathryn (Conkling) Kiesecker, was born Dec. 8, 1936, in Webster City. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1955. She then attended Iowa Central Community College. In 1987, she moved to the Sioux City area, where she worked at MCI for 10 years and retired due to ill health in 1997. She then moved to Kingsley, where she currently resided.

Joyce excelled in everything she did from her wedding catering business, candy/cookie business, restaurant manager/owner, florist and outreach specialist for Hamilton County to sales for MCI. Joyce's highest priority in life was church, then family. She had a strong faith and relationship with Jesus Christ and was a devoted member of Cornerstone Faith Center in Sioux City. She received a two-year degree from the Cornerstone World Outreach School of Biblical Studies.

She always placed family and friends before herself. Her greatest joy, next to her daughters, were her grandchildren; the world evolved around them. She never missed an opportunity to attend a hockey, dance, music or school function. Joyce was known for her chicken and noodles, cinnamon rolls and homemade pie. She touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and always in our hearts.

Survivors include her daughters, Shannon Merk (Matthew) of Kingsley, and Julene Edwards (Marv) of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchildren, Jonathon, Kathryn and Ariel; sisters, June Ades of Webster City, and Carrie Hoover of Fort Dodge, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene and Duane Kiesecker; and a sister, Julia "Tiny" Olson.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
