Lloyd Raymond Pardun was born on August 19, 1917 to Frank C. and Emma Soults Pardun on a farm northwest of Clarion. At the age of 5 Lloyd's father passed away. His mother later married Everett Smith of Clarion. He graduated from Clarion High School and married Arlene Brewster of Eagle Grove in 1936. He farmed the family farm for a short time, then moved to Eagle Grove. He drove a gas transport truck for Chapman Oil Company. He then went to work for the W&H Co-op and managed gas stations in Webster City and Humboldt, and also operated a tank wagon in Hardy for a number of years. He went to work at Boone Valley Coop and worked until retiring in 1979. His wife, Arlene, died in 1979. In 1980 he married Evilo Flower.

Lloyd Raymond Pardun, of Eagle Grove died Saturday, September 23, 2000 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion at the age of 83. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 26, at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Open Bible in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Lloyd Meyer officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Lloyd was a member of the Church of the Open Bible and was very active in their music programs.

He is survived by his second wife, Evilo, two sons Raymond and wife Jacquelyn of Kansas City, Mo and Frank Pardun and wife Peggy of Joplin, Mo, one daughter Marilyn Pardun Jensen and husband Kenneth, Eagle Grove, one sister Elsie Innis of Bettendorf, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
