Margaret Jane Quigley, age 90, of Belmond passed away Sunday November 9, 2014 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret Jane Quigley will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday November 12, 2014 at the St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Belmond. Rev. Jerry Blake will officiate. Burial will take place in the St Francis Cemetery near Belmond. Visitation for Margaret Jane Quigley will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday November 11, 2014 at the Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. A scriptural wake service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Margaret Jane, the daughter of Clyde and Lillian Sebert Ambrose, was born April 24, 1924 in Clarion. She grew up in the communities of Eagle Grove, Belmond and Clarion. Jane graduated from Clarion High School in 1941 at the age of seventeen. Jane did attend Normal Training and taught at country schools in Wright county for a period of time. Margaret Jane was united in marriage to Paul F. Quigley in 1944 in Belmond. The couple made their home first in Belmond, where they owned and operated Quig’s Inn Restaurant and Gas Station on Highway 69. Later, Paul and Jane moved to Des Moines and later settled in Clear Lake, where Jane worked as a Real Estate Agent and Mother. Paul passed away in 1971. Always a very strong woman, Jane raised her children and continued her work in real estate. Besides raising her family, Jane was a dedicated caregiver for her’s and Paul’s mother in their later years. In 1997, Jane moved back to the Belmond where she found a wonderful home at the Belmond Communtiy Apartments. Her years at the apartments brought her much joy and many friends.

Margaret is remembered for her love of flowers, being a very intense and serious “Rummy” card player, scrap booker, and shopper. Jane was a member of the St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Belmond.

Jane is survived by her children, Patricia Graham and husband, David of Harmony, MN, Peggy Ballard and husband, James of Lake Crystal, MN, Michael and wife, Pamela of Belmond, eleven grandchildren, Todd Graham, Christine (Jeremy) Mize, Brett (Tracie) Graham, Shannon Quigley, Kelley (Chris) Hays, Morgan (Justin) Moen, Jason Quigley, Alethea Ballard, Lillian Ballard, Amber Swenson, Ashley (Matt) Mork, almost nineteen great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul Sr., and two sons, Paul Jr and Jeff.
