Thomas Edwin "Eddie" Kuebler died October 1, 2002 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Glidden, With burial at Dillavou Cemetery near Ralston. Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden handled arrangements.
Mr. Kuebler was born June 13, 1921 in Lanesboro and had live there as a youth. He had lived in Glidden & Eagle Grove before returning to Glidden in 1968. He was a retired truck driver with Umthun Trucking Co. and an Army veteran of WWII, when he received a Bronze medal. He had earned a Two Million Mile Accident Free Award while trucking . Enjoyed Western movies, word puzzles and having coffee with others. He married Lola Jean Black, 27 Sep 1941.
He is survived by three sons, James of Rinard, Steve of Oklahoma and Guy of Gretna, Neb.; two daughters, Joyce Dawson of Wyoming and Paula Underberg of Lidderdale; a sister, Ruby Wiedrein of Lidderdale; 19 grandchildren, including Krysty Melton of Bagley, whom he had raised; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola and a daughter Peggy Jean in 1970. He was the first one in Iowa to die of West Nile Virus.
