Spencer T. Lauritsen, age 31, most recently of Mason City, IA, a graduate of Forest High School in the Class of 2003, died, January 5, 2016, at Mercy Medical North Iowa-Mason City, Iowa. A service to celebrate Spencer's life will be at 10 am, Monday, at the Andrews Funeral Home, 516 1st Street S.E., Belmond, IA Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the services on Monday.

Spencer Thomas Lauritsen, the son of Donald Duane and Patricia Lee (Krull) Lauritsen, was born July 28, 1984, at Mason City, IA. He was baptized at the Christian Reformed Church, Buffalo Center, IA, and confirmed at the West Prairie Lutheran Church in Leland, IA. He attended Forest Public Schools graduating in 2003.

In earlier years of his life, Spencer had been active in the scouting program. During his high school career, Spencer had participated in wrestling and played football. He enjoyed times spent with his friends and family. Spencer very much loved his role as an uncle and was a very caring and loving person. He enjoyed biking and was an avid and well skilled Frisbee golf player. Spencer loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. A favorite fishing excursion was making the trek to Lake Lillian located at Thorpe Park, west of Forest City.

Spencer was loved by many and relished the role of being the clown of the group, bringing much light and laughter to whatever the occasion. There was almost always a positive vibe in the room if Spencer was there. He had a big heart and was always willing to help and lend a helping hand. He truly was a selfless and heart warming man. His demeanor was easy going and his character brought with it a sense of adventure.

Spencer was a dedicated and devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, along with Dale Earnhardt, Jr.. His musical tastes were very diverse. A favorite time surrounding his music was a trip to the Surf Ballroom with his mom to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. His friends were many, but a few of his most precious included Brian Lunning and Jason Barg, along with numerous others.

Spencer had been employed in earlier life at the Golden Oval Farms north of Thompson, IA. In more recent years he had been employed at Hardee's Stores in Forest City and Mason City, Mosaic Group Homes, Forest City locations, Woodharbor and Winnebego, Industries. He also had been employed part time at the Mason City Country Club.

Survivors include his father Donald Lauritsen, Evansdale, IA; mother Patricia Lauritsen, Mason City; sisters Autumn Lauritsen, and Katy Lauritsen and her children Dakota Lauritsen and Jude Lauritsen; his step mother Carla Lauritsen; and step siblings Cory and Jeff Stevenson and Tina Perry; along with countless friends and extended family.
