April 12, 1888 --- September 13, 1955

N. C. (Cliff) Olmstead, 69, former Webster City resident, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's hospital in Aurora, Ill. He had been in ill health the past year. Funeral services at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. E. G. Brinkmeyer officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery. The body is expected here Friday morning and will lie in state at the funeral home until the time for the service.

Mr. Olmstead was at one time cashier of the former State bank at Woolstock, later serving as cashier of the State bank at Ellsworth. In 1917 he entered the life insurance business, and was employed with the Mutual Trust Life Insurance Co. of Chicago. In 1938 the family moved to Aurora where he was field representative for the Iowa Hardware Mutual Insurance association of Mason City, covering the north part of Illinois. He is survived by his wife and one son, L. E. Olmstead of Batavia, Ill.; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ray (Marybelle) Park of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
