Funeral services for Margaret Mennenga, 68, lifelong resident of Belmond, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Immanuel Reformed church. Rev. Burial was in the Belmond cemetery, the following serving as pallbearers; George, Henry, Arnold, Harry and Elmer Mennenga and Kenneth Kephart. Miss Mennenga died last Saturday morning at Belmond Community Hospital, where she had been a patient for only two weeks. She had, however, been in failing health for a period of several months. Born near Belmond on Dec. 30, 1891, Miss Mennenga was the youngest of 10 children born to Heye and Margaret Mennenga. She made her home with her parents for many years and cared for them until their deaths. The last two years of her life she resided at the Johnson Nursing Home here. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine and Henrietta; and three brothers, Folrich, Heiko and Titus. Surviving are four brothers -- Menno of Waterloo, Fred of Watford City, N. Dak., John of Belmond and Bernard of Santa Monica. All of the pallbearers were nephews of the deceased.
