Katherine Mennenga -- Belmond Teacher

Katherine Mennenga passed away Feb. 16, 1910 at the age of 21 years, 3 months, 21 days. She was born Oct. 27,1888, the daughter of Heye and Margaret Mennenga. She attended rural school at Dist. #4, Pleasant Twp. and in the Belmond School and also Pleasant Prairie Academy at German Valley, Ill. She taught Rural School for three years. Survivors include her parents; seven brothers, Heiko, Belmond; Menno, Hampton; Folrich, Belmond; Titus, Freeport, Ill.; Fred, Schafer, N. Dakota; John, Belmond; Bernard, Belmond; also two sisters, Henrietta and Margaret at home. also 21 nieces and nephews. Burial was in the Franklin Grove Cemetery.
