Roy M. Pixler, Springville, Calif., was born November 9, 1921, at Eagle Grove, Iowa. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1942 - 1945 during World War II. He was previously a resident of Porterville, Calif., from 1956 - 1975, and a Springville resident for 23 years. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church of Porterville. He was a Golf Pro at the Porterville Municipal Golf course from 1956 - 1965. In 1965 he went to work for the Auto Club of Southern California as a sales representative, retiring in 1985. He was a member of River Island Country Club, and a past member of the Porterville Breakfast Lions, and past member of the Porterville Elks Club.

Roy M. Pixler died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at Springville, Calif., at the age of 76. Survivors include his wife, Alyce, Springville, Calif.; two sons, Todd Pixler, Porterville, Calif., and Mark Pixler, Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by one brother. Memorial services were held on Monday, June 29, 1998 at the Myers Chapel, Porterville, Calif., at 11 a.m. with Father Tom Upton, St. John's Episcopal Church officiating. Inurnment will be private. Myers Funeral Service Porterville, Calif., was in charge of arrangements.
