Miss Harriett M. Amundson, 60, Humboldt, formerly of Eagle Grove, died Sunday at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Services will be held today (Wednesday) at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Harriett Margaret Amundson, the daughter of Edward M. and Helen M. Lalor Amundson, was born on Jan. 22, 1924 at Clarion in Wright County, Iowa. As a child, she moved with her parents to Eagle Grove. She attended the Sacred Heart School and graduated from the Eagle Grove High School in the Class of 1941. For several years, she was employed at the Scott's Store as the assistant manager. In 1966, she retired due to her poor health and in 1970 moved to Humboldt. For many years, she made her home with a special friend, Arlene Lonning. Harriett was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Humboldt for the past several years.

She died on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 30. 1984, at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt at the age of 60 years, eight months and eight days.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Helen M Amundson, who lives at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove; her special friend, Arlene Lonning of Humboldt, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services for Harriett M. Amundson, 60, of Humboldt, and formerly of Eagle Grove, were held on Wednesday, Oct 3, 1984 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Fr. Paul R. Peters and Rev. Fr. Mervin J. Hood, were the officiants and the burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Tuesday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.
