February 19, 1886 --- January 25, 1967

Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10 o'clock in Sacred Heart Church for Edgar Martin Amundson, 80, who died Wednesday evening Jan. 25th in Mercy Hospital, Fort Dodge where he had been a patient for a week. He had been in failing health for some time. Rev. Albert Hoffman, pastor of St. John's Church, Clarion, officiated at the funeral mass in the absence of Rev. J. J. Brickley, pastor of Sacred Heart who is vacationing in Arizona. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Mr. Amundson is survived by his wife, one daughter, Miss Harriett Amundson of Clarion, two sisters, Mrs. H. R. Packard and Mrs. Martin Branyard of Webster City and one brother, Omer Amundson of Iowa Falls.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Amund Amundson, Edgar Amundson was born Feb. 19th, 1886 in Hardin County. He attended Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls and in 1907 became an automobile dealer in Radcliffe. He moved to Clarion in 1916, and in 1917 he was married to Miss Helen Lalor of Eagle Grove. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1924, and Mr. Amundson continued in the automobile business here for many years. He retired from business in 1952. Mr. Amundson was member of Sacred Heart church. The rosary was recited at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral home Thursday evening.
