Helen M. Amundson, the daughter of Simon and Harriett Fox Lalor, was born on March 11,1897, on a farm near Woolstock in Wright County, Iowa. She lived on the family farm a few years and then moved with her parents to Eagle Grove and attended the Sacred Heart Schools. In 1917, she was united in marriage with Edgar Amundson. The couple lived in Clarion for several years and then moved to Eagle Grove and owned and operated an auto garage for several years. Helen had been a resident of the Rotary Ann Home for the past several years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America.

She died on Monday evening, Feb. 17, 1986 at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and six days. She is survived by two brothers, Walter L. Lalor of West Des Moines, Iowa and Melvin E. Lalor of Springdale, Ark., several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Harriett who died in 1984, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen M. Amundson, 88, of Eagle, Grove, were held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Eagle Grove. Visitation, rosary and scripture services were held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home on Tuesday.
