November 30, 1853 --- December 19, 1919

The death of Simon Lalor occurred last Friday, Dec. 19, 1919, following an illness of several months. Funeral services were held from the Catholic church Monday morning and interment was made in Calvary cemetery here.

Simon Lalor was born in Dublin, Ireland, Nov. 30, 1853. He came to America when only four years of age and the family located in Illinois. He was married in 1881 to Miss Hattie Fox and the year following they moved to Woolstock township and in 1902 they retired from the farm and moved to Eagle Grove. Mr. Lalor was highly respected by all who knew him and was regarded as honest and conscientious. He served three terms as councilman of his ward and always dealt square with everybody.

He is survived by his widow and eleven children: George, Harry, Edward, Edith (Mrs. Gene Allen), Ida (Mrs. Dr. Long), Mark, Nellie (Mrs. Amundson), Fred, Walter, Catheline, and Melvin.
