Services for Roger (Jack) Griffith, 67, Woolstock, will be held Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 3:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral home with Rev. Clinton Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Cass Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until service time. He died suddenly Saturday, Jan. 16 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center.
Roger Louren Griffith, son of Wren and Sylvia Thurman Griffith, was born June 4, 1920, in Dayton Township, Wright County. He was educated in rural Wright County schools. He married Delores Capsel on Dec. 22, 1947 at Elk Point, S.D. The couple farmed in the Eagle Grove and Goldfield areas. He was later employed at the Woodard Feed Company, and as a farm hand for Darle Myers of rural Lehigh. He retired three years ago and the couple moved to Woolstock.
Survivors are his wife, one daughter and two sons, Elaine (Mrs. Gary) Elsberry, Michael and Richard, all of Webster City; five grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Smith of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. He was baptised in the Baptist faith.
