June 15, 1884 --- July 2, 1881

Poplar Grove, Illinois - Rebecca Thorinda (Seaver) Chamberlain, age 97, of 4912 Blaine Road, died Thursday evening in Park Strathmoor Nursing Home, Rockford, Illinois following a lengthy illness. She was born in Wright County, Iowa on 15 June 1884, the daughter of Seaver K. Seaver and Emma Engeborg Paulson Seaver, but she lived most of her life in this area. She married Charles William Chamberlain Sr. on 12 Nov 1917 in Rockford. Charles was the son of George Stephen Chamberlain and Sarah Jane North. Charles registered for World War I and World War II but it is not shown that he served due to age. He was an auto mechanic for Standard Oil Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at one time. Rebecca and Charles had one son, Charles William Chamberlain Jr. Rebecca is survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband and parents, plus four sisters: Pearl Seaver Duxstad, Gladys Seaver Krupke, Maude Seaver Mandell and Josephine Seaver Campbell and two brothers, Raymond Seaver and Arthur Seaver.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Buck Wheeler Hyland Funeral Home, Belvidere with the Rev. Kenneth Lemmell, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Belvidere officiating. Burial will follow in Blaine Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.
