Howard Marvin Anderson, the son of Frederick and Matilda (Sletten) Anderson, was born on April 3, 1932, in Emmons, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Scarville, Iowa, graduating from Scarville High School in 1950.

On August 30, 1952, Howard was united in marriage with Joyce Hansen in Scarville. The couple moved to Goldfield in 1969. Howard managed various Grain Elevators throughout Iowa and the mid-west, even after his retirement in the early 90's, he continued to work as an interim manager.

Howard was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. He was also a founding member of Oakridge Recreation and member of Goldfield Commercial Club. Howard enjoyed following his kids and grandkids sports and activities, playing golf, cards and taking care of his lawn.

Howard passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion, at the age of 83 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Clarice Christianson.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Anderson of Goldfield; daughters, Deb Marler (Roy) of Ankeny and Judy Larson (Tom Fischer) of Humboldt; son, Gary Anderson (Kristal) of Clarion eight grandchildren: Holly Birkey (David), Nick Marler (Tara), Geoff Marler (Margo), Jenna Anderson, Jillian Anderson (David Flurer), Tyler Larson, Jacey Anderson and Kaitlyn Larson; four great-grandchildren: Mason and Ethan Marler, Raiella Marler and Audra Birkey; brother, Robert Anderson (Leona) of Kiester, MN and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015, 11 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with a visitation on Sunday, from 5 to 7 pm at the Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. Foust Funeral Homes, Eagle Grove and Goldfield in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
