James A. Harris, 67, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Private graveside services will be held at a later date in Clarion, Iowa. There will be no services or visitation locally. The Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction is caring for James’ arrangements. A memorial has been established at the funeral home.

James Allen Harris was born July 11, 1948 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Ed and Bev (Miller) Harris. He graduated from North High School in 1966. He earned his AA degree in Drafting from Southeastern Community College of Burlington and worked as a laborer for John Deere. On November 23, 1980 James was united in marriage to Rosemary Weld in Columbus Junction. He was a member of the Auto Workers Union. He enjoyed fishing, pheasant hunting, working on the computer and caring for his lawn and garden. James was a family man who loved his home and pets.

James will be dearly missed by his wife, Rosemary of Columbus Junction; his sons, Bob, Jerry and Rusty; seven grandchildren; his mother, Bev Harris of Des Moines; and his sister, Pam Adamson of Des Moines. James was preceded in death by his father and brother, Ron Harris.
