Roger Faulkner, 82, of Iowa Falls, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at his home in Iowa Falls. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 2 to 3:30 pm at Cedar Ridge, 1221 N. Freemont in Iowa Falls. Woodley Funeral Home, LLC of Iowa Falls is caring for Roger and his family.

Roger Verlyn Faulkner was born on March 7, 1933 in Webster City, Iowa to Floyd and Hazel (Schweppe) Faulkner. He attended school in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1956. On January 11, 1957 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Archer at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Debbie, Cindy, Sherri and Rod. Roger farmed and worked at Farmland Foods for twenty five years. He also worked for Iowa Vet, retiring after many years.

Roger was an amazing husband and father. He loved life. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, golf and his schedule of TV shows. He especially enjoyed playing bingo at Cedar Ridge as well as playing cards, dancing with his wife while showing off his moves, and it was always four o'clock somewhere.

Roger is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Iowa Falls, Iowa; children, Debbie (Mike) Gough of Buda, Texas, Cindy (Doug) Wittmer of Hampton, Iowa, Sherri (Steve) Goodknight of Corryton, Tennessee and Rod (Amy) Faulkner of Iowa City, Iowa; grandchildren, Dana (Rebecca) Gough, Brittin (Blake) Lewis, Jessica Goodknight, Adam Wittmer, Ross Goodknight, Jeff (Samantha) Wittmer, Christy Wittmer and Brianna Faulkner; two great grandchildren, Alexia Goodknight and Gwendolyn Lewis; two brothers, Max (Marjorie) Faulkner and Lyle Faulkner; sister, Dorothy (Lyle) Dahlgren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bethene Mattingly.
