Services for Leon M. Adams, 75, of Janesville, who died after a long illness at his home on Thursday, April 4, 1985, were 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Anns Catholic Church, Janesville, with his nephew, the Rev. Stephen Adams of Denver Colo., officiating. Burial was in St. Anns Cemetery, Janesville. Visitation was 2 to 9 p.m. Monday, with parish rosary at 7:30 p.m. and wake service at 8 p.m. at the Arnoldt Funeral Home, Janesville, and one hour before services at the church. Pallbearers were Joseph and Thomas Adams, Thomas Longworthy, Luverne Carey, James Keeley and Dennis Schultz.
Mr. Adams was born Aug. 8, 1909, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Nicholas and Mary (Keppers) Adams. He graduated from Pemberton High School in 1927, He married Margaret J. Denn of St. Clair, at St. Clairs Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Nov, 28, 1935. He farmed in the Mapleton area for 18 years, and moved to a farm southwest of Janesville in 1955. He farmed there until 1973, when he retired, remaining on the farm. He moved to Janesville in 1980. Mr. Adams was a former member of the Knight of Columbus, and of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Margaret of Janesville; nine sons, David, Everett, Richard, M. Peter and John, all of Janesville, Dean of Anchorage, Alaska, Jerry of Dundas, Paul of Waseca, and Robert of Bloomington; three daughters, Dianna (Mrs. Gordon) Galler of Janesville, Judy (Mrs. Richard) Anderson of Stillwater, and Kathy (Mrs. Darrell) Danielson of Mankato; three brothers, Francis of Owatonna, Donald of Minnesota Lake and Larry of Potomac, Md; four sisters, Jean (Mrs. Fred) Weimann of Fairmont, Lorraine Murphy of Pemberton, Dorothy (Mrs. Thomas) Wyatt of Littleton, Colo., and Eileen Adams of San Francisco, Calif.; 42 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Two brothers, a sister, a grandson and a granddaughter preceded him in death.
