Ruby B. Farus, 83, of 1324 SW Prairie Ave. died Sunday, Feb. 12, at Rice County District One Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Fourth Avenue United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Day, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Forest City, Iowa. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Parker-Kohl Funeral Home and Wednesday at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Ruby Bessie Beaver, daughter of Henry and Bertha Banta Beaver, was born in Buffalo Center, Iowa, Oct. 14, 1905. She married Leonard Farus June 16, 1926, at Buffalo Center, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1955. Mrs. Farus had taught in rural schools of Kenyon and Clarion, Iowa, for many years. She was a longtime member of the WCTU. She is survived by a son, Richard Farus of Faribault; two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Pat) Newkirk of Austin and Mrs. Carl (Peggy) Musgjerd of Minneapolis; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pearl Olson of Albert Lea; and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Maxine Martin; her parents; three brothers, Frank, Guy and Howard; and one sister, Bertha Sickels.
