Albert Arthur Leyson was born to Herbert and Etta May Leyson, Feb. 24, 1898, at Eagle Grove. His boyhood days were spent around Eagle Grove. He served with the armed forces in World War I from 1915 to 1918, following which he moved to Peterson, and in 1928 to Milford, where he worked at the Motor Inn garage. He graduated in 1934 from the School of Embalming and on Dec. 25, 1934, was married to Ethel Donovan. Two children were born to them, Alene, 18, and Herbert, 16. At intervals from 1950 until the past year he had been in Oakdale Sanitarium. On Aug. 16 he was released from the Veterans Hospital with a complete medical discharge. He died at his home, Sept. 7. Funeral services were held Sept. 10 at the Union Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Maurice Frevert anf Rev. J. H. Castle of Sioux City officiating. Mrs. Dwight Hemphill sang, "Beyond a Sunset" and "Have Thine Own Way Lord." She was accompanied by Mrs. Frank Fellows. Burial was in Waterman Cemetery at Sutherland. The pallbearers were Ned Hampton, Cy Colvin, George Hofstad, Elmer Finkade, Oscar Meyerdick and Dr. Jones. He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Lorraine in 1945 and his father and mother. He leaves his wife, Ethel, daughter, Alene, son Herbert and two sisters, Mrs. Harry Wells of California and Mrs. Harry Klass of Paoli, Ind. Mrs. Klass, Raymond Powell and Luella Boldman of Sutherland came from out of town for the funeral.
