Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Aug. 21 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Rolfe, Iowa for Kathleen M. Schott, who died Saturday, Aug. 18 at Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove. The Rev. Merle Kollasch officiated. Interment is at St. Margaret's Cemetery in Rolfe.

Mrs. Schott was born Jan. 16, 1920 in Rolfe, the daughter of James and Nora (Calligan) George. She was raised and educated in Rolfe and graduated from Rolfe High School. She married Richard Schott in Rolfe Nov. 25, 1940. The couple made their home in Rolfe, where they raised their family. In 1970, the couple moved to Spirit Lake and then to Okoboji. Following Richard's death, Mrs. Schott moved to Eagle Grove. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake and a member of Catholic Daughters of America, VFW Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her son, James Schott and his wife, Teresa, of Otho; Susan McDaniel and her husband, Chuck, of Goldfield; David Schott and his wife, Jackie of Ft. Dodge; a daughter, Carol Jahnke and her husband, Leonard, of Eagle Grove; 11 grandchildren; 19 g-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Enockson of Ft. Collins, Colo, and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; a son, Steven; her parents, a sister; a brother and two grandchildren. Turner Funeral Home of Spirit Lake was in charge of arrangements.
