Services for Blanche Markwick, 83, Storm Lake, were held March 20 at Hughes-Nelson Funeral Home, Storm Lake. Rev. Duane Queen, Lakeside Presbyterian Church, officiated. Burial was in Lake View Cemetery, Spirit Lake. Hughes-Nelson Funeral Home, Storm Lake, was in charge of arrangements. She died March 18, 1991, at Buena Vista County Hospital, Storm Lake. Blanche was born June 1, 1907, to Joseph James and Mary Elizabeth (Houska) Eral. She married Carroll J. Markwick on Dec. 27, 1942, in Ida Grove. He died Nov. 5, 1976. They made their first home in Storm Lake and later lived in Eagle Grove, Denison, and Spirit Lake. She was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church and U.C.T. Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; three brothers, Leonard, Edward and Albert; and one sister, Cecelia Terry. Survivors include her daughter, Lorna Jeanne (Mrs. David) Stephenson, Bolivar, Mo.; one sister, Martha Williams, Storm Lake; and two grandchildren.
