December 14, 1891 --- November 3, 1978

Mrs. Lettie Fatland, daughter of Olaf and Bertha Thorson Nelson, was born December 14, 1891, at Newark, Ill. Lettie was united in marriage with Sam N. Fatland on December 22, 1911, at Clarion, Iowa. They farmed near Eagle Grove for about 35 years, after which they lived in town for a short time. Mrs. Fatland died Friday, November 3, 1978, at St. Luke's Hospital, Davenport, at the age of 86. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, who died December 1, 1961. Survivors include one son, LaVerne Fatland of Pine City, Minn.; four daughters: Marguerite Fatland of Glendale, Calif.; Lottie and Edith Fatland of Davenport and Mrs. Kenneth (Ardith Jane) Wildman of Rock Island, Ill.; one sister, Eva Malaise of Covina, Calif; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1978, at 2:00 p.m. at Kastler - Babcock - DeYoung Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Callen officiated and burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
