Lawrence Edward Larson, the son of Lawrence Phillip and Blanche Cole Larson, was born on April 18, 1915 on a farm near Newell, in Sac County, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm and attended the rural schools. On Sept. 15, 1937, he was united in marriage with Bernice Lorene Russell in the Christian Church at Sac City. The family farmed near Sac City anf later moved near Webster City, then Williams and Woolstock and moved to Eagle Grove in 1951. Mrs. Larson died on April 10, 1974.

Lawrence was employed at the Kallin-Johnson Monument Company in Fort Dodge for many years and he retired in 1976, due to poor health. He had been a resident of the Southfield Care Center in Webster City for the past year and one-half. He died at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 8, 1985 at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 20 days.

He is survived by a daughter, Carmen McKinney of Orlando, Fla.; three sons, Larry Larson of Webster City; Ray Larson, Nevada; and Eugene Larson of Vail, Colo.; six grandchildren; three sisters, Alice, Mrs. Ralph Sharon of Yetter, Iowa, Carol, Mrs. Lamont Morrison of Red Wing, Minn.; Ferne, Mrs. Alan Johnson of Newell; two brothers, Severt Larson of Yankton, S D.; Merlin Larson of Sac City and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Paul Larson.

Funeral services for Lawrence E. (Red) Larson, age 69, of Eagle Grove, were held on Fri, Jan. 11, 1985 at 11 a m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Rev Scott C. Hall, pastor of the United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
