Mamie E., daughter of Knute and Martha Gurine Woster, was born at Roland, Iowa, December 19, 1897, and passed away June 23, 1961 at Lutheran hospital, Fort Dodge, Iowa, at the age of 63. She was one of a family of ten children with six sisters and two brothers preceding her in death. She received her education in the Roland public schools and graduated from Highland Park College, Des Moines, Iowa. She taught in the rural schools of Story county before her marriage to Robert Lloyd at Crystal Lake, Iowa, November 19, 1925. One son, Duane Robert, was born June 9, 1932.

Mrs. Lloyd is survived by her husband, Robert, and her son, Duane, who is a teacher in the Glenwood high school. She is also survived by her oldest sister, Mrs. Anna Mae Rasmussen of Roland, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was a devoted wife and mother, a dedicated member of the Methodist church and a loyal never failing friend. Mrs. Lloyd took an active part in the betterment and advancement of the community which was her home for 33 years. She was a Past Matron of Eagle Chapter of the Eastern Star, Past President of Equality Club and a member of Chapter EJ, P.E.O. Sisterhood.
