April 12, 1887 --- July 28, 1960

Julius Skow, 73, died July 28th following a heart attack at Thyregod, Denmark where he had been one week, visiting relatives. He left Eagle Grove Tuesday, July 19th, to board a jet plane for the trip to his old homeland, and had arrived there July 20th. He had visited his brother and sister whom he had not seen for 49 years. Mrs. Skow did not accompany him on the trip. Memorial services were held Tuesday morning at the Kastler Funeral Home at 10:30 in charge of Rev. Marion Blake. Mr. Skow's body was cremated in Denmark Wednesday.

Mr. Skow came to Eagle Grove a few years ago from Emmetsburg to Superintend the building of the new Evangelical Church. He was married here to Mrs. Bertha Boughton and they made their home at 621 East Broadway. He was born in Denmark, April 12, 1887, and came to this country in 1910 settling at Emmetsburg. He is survived by his wife and the following children by a previous marriage Julius Skow of Emmetsburg; Mrs. W. R. Phillips of Des Moines; Mrs. Julius Anderson of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. James Brown, of San Diego and Mrs. W. R. Carney of Sunnyvale, Calif. All were here for the memorial service. Also surviving are his brother and sister in Denmark, a brother in Florida, 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
