Funeral here for former resident

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Loretta Smith, 88, a former Eagle Grove resident, were held Wednesday morning at 10:30 at the Kastler - Babcock - DeYoung Funeral Home. Rev. Wm. Menster of Clarion officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Smith died Sunday morning at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Des Moines where she had resided for several years. She is survived by one son Earl Smith of Altoona, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and six sisters.

Margaret Loretta Fischer was born at Woolstock, and educated there. In 1925, she married Charles Smith at Austin, Minn, and the couple farmed west of Eagle Grove until the death of Mr. Smith in 1930. Mrs. Smith later moved into Eagle Grove.
