Mildred Mclwaine funeral today

Miss Mildred Mclwaine of Nemaha, former Eagle Grove teacher, died Tuesday evening at the Buena Vista Hospital in Storm Lake. During her final illness she was a patient there for one day. Previously she had been hospitalized in Storm Lake and Iowa City, but her illness was of such a nature, friends were aware of the fact she would not recover. Funeral services are to be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday) in the Farber Ottoman Funeral Home in Sac City. Cremation will follow. Friends who are interested in gifts in Miss McIlwaine's memory are advised that a scholarship fund for educational purposes has been set up. Those interested may contact Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Nelson, Eagle Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson visited "Mac" frequently since she left here and Mrs. Nelson spent two days last week assisting in her home in Nemaha. Miss Mclwaine came to Eagle Grove over thirty years to join the Eagle Grove Schools faculty and at the time of her retirement was a teacher in the Junior High School.

Rites Thursday for Resident of Nemaha, Mildred McElwaine
Funeral services for Mildred I. McElwaine, 70, of Nemaha, were held Thursday, Aug 1, at the Farber - Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City, with Rev. Peter Peterson officiating. Her body was cremated, with interment in the Nemaha cemetery. The former school teacher and principal at Eagle Grove died July 30 at the Buena Vista County Hospital Cousins and friends were among the survivors.
