Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Wilkin, 93, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wilson Funeral Home. Mrs. Wilkin died Thursday morning Dec. 9 at the Rotary Ann Home where she had been a resident for a few months. Elder Charles Cackler of Fort Dodge had charge of the service and burial was in the Woolstock Cemetery at Woolstock. Mrs. Wilkin is survived by two sons, James of Anaheim, Calif, and William Walter Wilkin of Denver, Colo., four grandchildren and two great granddaughters. Mrs. Wilkin was born in La Salle County, Ill. Nov. 23, 1878, to parents Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Hayer, both deceased. She attended Graceland College at Lamoni, and in January of 1903 was married to Frank Wilkin in Des Moines. They farmed for many years in the Head Grove neighborhood East of Eagle Grove and when they retired moved to Eagle Grove. Mr. Wilkin died in 1950 and she was also preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth and Eleanor, one son Frank, Jr. and two brothers and one sister. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
