Henry A. Flett Dies at Clarion

CLARION — Funeral services for H. A. Flett, 70, who died at the Clarion hospital where he had been taken after suffering a heart attack were held at the First Methodist Church with Dr. R. J. Barron in charge. Burial was at Dows. Henry Arthur Flett was born Jan. 30, 1887, 7 miles southwest of Dows, the son of James and Cornelia McClure Flett. He attended the grade schools at Vernon Center; graduated from Ellsworth Academy (now Ellsworth College, Iowa Falls) in 1911; later attended Iowa State College. He was married to Lois Sutton June 24, 1914 at the Dows Methodist Church. Mr. Flett was engaged in farming in Vernon and Blaine townships before moving to Clarion in March, 1942. He also did surveying in this mid Iowa area. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, in 1952, and a daughter who died in infancy. He is survived by two sons, James Dwight, Cedar Falls, and Dean T., Clarion, one brother, Ray Flett, Eldora; one sister, Mrs. Inez Anderson, Mentor, Kan. and four grandchildren.
