Evilo Marybelle Flower, 85, of Eldora, formerly of Eagle Grove, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora. Funeral services were held at 10 a m. on Saturday, January 15, 2005, at the Foust Funeral Home with the Rev. Jarrod Bartholomew of the Midway Baptist Church in Michigan, officiating. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Evilo Marybelle Flower was born on March 9, 1919, in Manly, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Nellie L. (Summers) Flower. Evilo moved to Eagle Grove as an infant with her parents and brothers, Paul and Marlen. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School. She was a lifelong resident of Eagle Grove except for the two years she lived in Des Moines with her sister-in-law, Helen, while Marlen was overseas in the Army. She also helped her sister, Avenell, with her children while Leonard was overseas. Evilo lived with her parents and helped them with farm and rental properties and she did housekeeping for families in Eagle Grove. She was also a great cook, loved to care for children, and had a heart for older folks. She was an active member of the Church of the Open Bible in Eagle Grove, helping with the nursery, participating in the Overcomers Group, Dorcas Ladies Group (they made blankets, etc., for Indian Tribes in Arizona) and the choir. On July 31, 1980, she married Lloyd R. Pardun in Eagle Grove. He preceded her in death on September 23, 2000. Evilo moved to Eldora in 2001.

She is survived by her brother, Marlen Flower, and his wife, Helen, of Taylors, South Carolina, a sister, Avenell DeCamp, of Eldora; nephews: Dennis Flower and his wife, Toodie, Lance Flower and his wife, Janet; David Flower, and his wife, Anna Mae; Alan Flower, and his wife, Betty, and Larry DeCamp; nieces Lorena West, and her husband, Ken; Nancy Smith, Paula Flower, Linda Rutherford, and her husband, Irvin; Barbara Bartholomew, and her husband, Dennis; and Dona McEnelly and her husband, Gary, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, William Paul Flower; infant nephew, Scott D. Flower; a brother-in-law, Leonard K. DeCamp, and a nephew-in-law, John L. Smith.

The Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
