Charles M. Long, born to Franklin and Ellen M. Long on August 1, 1888 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. He departed this life July 11, 1962 at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 10 days, at his home, 712 North Iowa. On December 11, 1912 he was united in marriage to Nellie Fredrieka Hansen. They lived on a farm until 1920 when they moved to town, in Eagle Grove where he was engaged in the decorating business. He was a member of the Methodist church. Those who mourn his passing include his daughter, Irene, Mrs. Harry Midland, and one son Wallace H., both of Eagle Grove, Six grandsons and two great grandsons. He is also survived by two brothers and three sisters, Robert of Reding, Penn.; Calvin of Palmyra, Penn., Mrs. Mamie Seitzinger of Sandwich, Ill, Mrs. Sally Berstler and Mrs. Mary Unbenhower, both of Hamburg, Penn. Preceding him in death was his wife who died April 20, 1962, and one son Leslie James who died March 4, 1960 at Shawnee, Okla., also his parents and five brothers, Irwin, Emer, Joel, Oliver and Herbert.
